PAUL SLAUGHTER
Chief Executive
Paul has been working with innovative digital media solutions for 20 years, pioneering digital signage software for more than a decade. He has Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Edinburgh University and balances 14 years experience in educational management and the public sector with 17 years leading entrepreneurial ventures. He has founded and grown two innovative businesses in software development (TEEM Multimedia 1993- 2004, one of the earliest CD-ROM and web design businesses in Europe) and IP broadcasting/ digital signage taking both from a standing start into profit. He was the originator of the teemLINK™ digital signage technology in 1998, the intellectual concept and driving force for which has migrated through his leadership at TEEM, Campus Vision Ltd, Lit Screens Ltd, and is now continued with a new market leading product in i-Spy to be released in July 2010. Over the last decade Paul has developed active working partnerships with the BBC, Barclays, BT, and NEC; has been a Director of the largest Chamber of Commerce in the UK (NECC), chairing its Northumberland division and management committee of 25 MDs and executive directors; and a founding Director of a Northern Business Link. He was a leading Director and partner with senior international media consultants in Digital Screen Limited.
PHIL SAWYER
Director
Phil has over 37 years experience in the telecommunications and IT business and is an expert in IT infrastructure, data cabling (copper and fibre), network equipment installation and commissioning. He was for 16 years a specialist in circuit provision and Datel maintenance for BT, and then for nine years one of a small team of four IT network specialists responsible for managing the implementation of HSBC’s fibre cabling and IT infrastructure across the whole of the UK and the Channel Isles. In 1997 he founded and became Managing Director of Conceptunet www.conceptunet.com, a respected structured cabling/IT project management business with 30 employees. As MD for Conceptunet, Phil has led a £20m data centre project for Transco; a complete IT restructuring of a 1500-desk call centre at First Direct bank (which included the migration of all services from dumb terminals to a totally new Token Ring infrastructure); the installation of 25 POP sites throughout Europe, Asia and South America for Transaction Networks Services (TNS); and he has managed network roll-outs into Aldi, Brantano and Goldsmiths including hardware and software upgrades of customer ATMs. In 2009 Conceptunet was awarded the exclusive contract to install all networking hardware and infrastructure for HSBC’s main data centre at Wakefield.
TIM BELL
Director
Tim is professionally qualified in electronics, telecommunications and company management. He has 25 years experience as a technologist, Company Director and CTO at the highest levels, leading complex network developments and managing services for multi-national corporate clients such as BT, HSBC and Alcatel. He was as one of the four founding main board directors of the UK arm of £700m US company Transaction Networks Services (TNS) which he helped take from a turnover of zero to £32m. His contribution to TNS was pivotal: over a ten year period he established and successfully managed the global operations group structure with responsibility for over 120 staff; he designed and implemented the UK network for carrying mission critical financial transactions, evaluating and selecting all suppliers, negotiating, awarding and controlling all the major contracts, and over the term managed to reduce operational costs by over 30% and improve management control through integration, consolidation and process revision. Tim is an international expert in Point of Sale (POS) systems and has a successful track record in multiple roles ranging from hands-on engineering, operational and product management, to corporate strategy setting and general business direction. Tim is now heavily involved with the foundation and development of another managed networks business in the UK (Phoenix Managed Networks) as a director.
WAYNE MUTER
Creative Solutions Director
Wayne is a highly creative technologist with experience in a wide range of sectors from Pharmaceuticals (laboratory analyst) to e-learning and training (both development of materials and delivery); while based in London he worked with Hewlett Packard, and in the public sector for a rural LEA (Northumberland County Council) managing IT infrastructure and networks. His working knowledge of design and software tools, as well as telecommunications and the convergence of these technologies is outstanding. Wayne played a leading role in managing the technically complex implementation of Campus Vision’s world-first university screen networks in 2004 co-coordinating the laying of an independent cabling infrastructure across multiple campuses; proprietary software installations, network configuration, testing and support, the training of university staff simultaneous with the setting up of all the IT infrastructure of CV’s head office from scratch. From 2006- January 2010 he was the main technical and creative agent in Lit Screens Limited, evolving innovative digital signage solutions for clients including Glamorgan Cricket Club, the Oval, HMP services , hotels and international opportunities in Japan, China, and Australia. Working closely with the CEO and the development team, Wayne now has a key role in the ongoing R&D, and creative development of i-Spy’s software solutions.
JASON HOULSTON
Head of Content Creation
Jason has an HND in Business and Finance, a CIM Diploma in Marketing, and has been successfully running a web design and content creation business for 10 years. He heads up i-Spy’s Flash content creation team and has worked with i-Spy’s CEO on digital media projects since 2001. Passionate about quality, and production standards, and committed to building a strong and effective working relationship with clients, Jason has interpreted hundreds of design briefs over the years. As a professional artwork production outfit, he prides himself on responding quickly and accurately to content creation briefs - Jason’s team can have your content item on the screen within 48 hours from initial brief to finished work.
JASON THOMPSON
Head of Corporate Design
Jason has a B.Ed (Hons) degree and is a qualified teacher. In 1995 he founded his own new media company, Sound Ideas, which specialises in web site and CD-ROM development and photography. His work has entailed over 200 web site and multimedia design projects, and Jason has won both local and national awards for his achievements. He is chair of governors at a local primary school, and chair of a local Arts Forum. He has worked with the CEO professionally for more than 20 years, and is responsible for i-Spy’s overall corporate ID and design including our digital signage software graphic interface. |
